The Supreme Imperial Entente of Megas is vast, extra-solar alliance of planets located nearly 225 ly from Sol, in the “southwest” compass direction of the Milky Way Galaxy. The Entente encompasses six systems, each originally inhabited by a unique race, making the Entente a culturally diverse nation. The Entente has been an upstanding member of the ESUS for well over a century, and has expanded accordingly both economically and militarily. Outside the ESUS sphere of influence, the Entente’s closest allies are Naxder Drol, Voz, and Hobbeebia.

Origins of the Entente
The planet Zendus of the Valivarre system is home to the root of the Entente civilization. The planet united itself under a single government based on democratic principles, naming itself the country of Megas, derived from the ancient Karbarran word “Meg’As”, which means “to gain strength from unity.”
History
Main article: History of Megas (coming soon)
Over 3,000 years ago, the Great War was fought between the Megans, from their planet of Zendus, and the Tirolians and Tiresians, who formed an alliance to fend off the invaders. Though they were outnumbered, the Megans possessed superior technology, such as limited space travel capabilities that the natives of Tirol lacked. Originally, the Megans came to Tirol in peace. However, the Tirolians and Tiresians soon learned about there imperialistic views and politics, and no longer welcomed them, feeling that their communistic society would be threatened. Failing in their attempts to peacefully liberate the left-wing planet from it’s evil dictator, the Megans resorted to war. However, they did not fire the first shot. That was done by a Tirolian Air Force fighter that intercepted a Megan Imperial Starship while it was descending into Tirol’s atmosphere. The Megans declared total war, and soon their small fleet of ships were constantly making the 7-month sub-light speed journey to Tirol and back, carrying troops, supplies, and equipment. Eventually, the Megans took the capitol of Tirol, Monument City. An armistice was called, and eventually, a lasting peace came with the Treaty of Monument, beginning the negotiations for a new Tirol. It was decided that Tirol and Zendus would unite and become one alliance, the Supreme Imperial Entente of Megas. Terms of this unification were that Tirol would be the capitol planet along with Monument City being its capitol, and the existing Megan government would supercede all others. The entire Megan capitol of Hoboken was moved to Monument City, where a new governmental system was established.
The Megan Empire has expanded over the course of 3,000 years, encompassing at least six solar systems (all of which have peacefully joined the Entente, none being forced to do so), and ensuring the safety of several protectorate nations. As the Entente began to annex new worlds, the many races that became part of a greater whole faced much segregation and lack of civil rights.
The Invid Massacre of Liflor changed all of that. On the 1st of Liflor, 2545, several bands of mercenaries banded together to wipe out the Invid. They nearly succeeded in their goal as they destroyed the Flower of Life harvesting facilities on Anar, along with all of the defenseless Invid workers inside. The Invid were furious, claiming that according to the treaty it was the Entente’s responsibility to ensure the safety of the workers. The Entente found itself of the brink of civil war with Invid threatening secession. Quick, effective negotiations and the speed with which the mercenaries were captured and handed over to the Invid provincial government saved the Entente from undergoing a long and bloody battle.
Since then, the Entente has experienced only one other crisis; the Makhailan Incident and the bloody conflict it prompted, Hobbeebian War. In the year 2787MSD, the people of the planet Falcaro rebelled against the Entente government, declaring themselves the Free Nation of Makhail. A task force of 750 ships under the command of Fleet Commandant Daniel Fellows was dispatched to deal with the rebels, and had nearly claimed victory when a dimensional gate opened over the planet. From the dime-gate poured Hobbeebian warships carrying with them a massive invasion force. At the time, tensions with Hobbeebia had escalated, but no one in TASC, Parliament, or any other branch of the Entente expected such a blatant invasion. Yet, there it was. The Makhailan Incident lasted several days, and Entente forces claimed victory in space. In the wake of this brutal and bloody war, most Falcarans abandoned their mission to form an independent country, especially after seeing the cruelty of Hobbeebian occupation. The war only lasted a week, but it proved to be the most deadly conflict the Empire had ever seen.
The Treaty of Paragon was signed by the Emperor Hobbeeb of Hobbeebia and Supreme Chancellor Neil Hawkins onboard the MIC Paragon two years later, officially ending the hostilities between the two empires. Since then Megas and Hobbeebia have been united in their efforts to achieve military and economic greatness. The people of both empires learned that their ideals were not all that different, and allying themselves proved to be far more profitable than continuing hostilities. However, there were those that still harbored their hatred for Hobbeebians, namely those who suffered at the hands of the Hobbeebian military during their Falcaran occupation. Making claims such as the Hobbeebians were trying to take over the Entente through a puppet regime; these radicals were often arrested by the Megan government for spreading propaganda.
To this day, the Entente enjoys a successful economy, high standards of living, a powerful military, and a generally pleased populace.
Government and Politics
The Entente is governed by 3 separate bodies, TASC (Tactical Alpha Strategic Command), the Supreme Chancellor, and Parliament. Any major decision or bill that is drafted must be approved by all three governmental branches before it is affected into a law.
The Chancellorate
The Supreme Chancellor is elected by the people and holds this position until death, when a new chancellor is elected. The Supreme Chancellor has absolute power unless a vote of no confidence is given unanimously by TASC and Parliament. This power extends to all military affairs, judicial affairs, foreign affairs, and public affairs. By no means is the Chancellor above the law. As previously stated, a unanimous vote of no confidence can be effected at any time by the combined TASC and Parliament officials. Once this decision is reached, the Chancellor would be removed from office, and the Vice Chancellor would be sworn in as the new Supreme Chancellor. The current chancellor is Admiral Commandant (ret.) Neil Hawkins.
TASC
Tactical Alpha Strategic Command officials are appointed every 5 Megan Standard Years by the Supreme Chancellor. These officials are career military officers and are the controlling body of the military. They are often fiercely loyal to the Supreme Chancellor, and all belong to the same political party (as if there is an opposing party in Megas) as the Chancellor. There is no limit to how many times an official can be appointed in a certain position. Though their jurisdiction is mainly the military forces and judicial and emergency services, they have a very active role in politics, seeing every bill that passes through and approving or disproving them. TASC and Parliament vetoes are required to veto the Supreme Chancellor’s approval.
Parliament
Parliament representatives are elected every 5 years by the people of the Megan Empire. Each planet under Megan rule is divided into states or provinces. The amount of representative each province is permitted is determined by that province’s population. For every 1,000,000 citizens a province has, it is permitted one representative. The current Megan Parliament consists of over 4,000 representatives. Representatives of Parliament have the power to collectively approve a bill, however, if it is approved by the Supreme Chancellor, it cannot be vetoed by Parliament alone, but must be vetoed by TASC as well.
Military of the Entente
Main article: An In-depth Look at the Military of Megas (coming soon)
The Entente employs roughly 4% of her population in the military at any given time, and a two-year tour of duty is required after graduation from either tertiary school or college. If one accepts their conscript after tertiary school, college is fully paid for by the military. Because of this law, the Empire maintains a rather large military in proportion to its overall size. This does allow the Empire to protect its territory much more efficiently, and is one of the core reasons that it was able to win the Hobbeebian War. Despite its size, strict discipline and intense training keep it well organized. A complex rank system also helps maintain a proper chain of command. The two separate branches of the military, the Space Corps (a.k.a. the Spacy) and the Planetary Forces (PF) are controlled by Tactical Alpha Strategic Command, or TASC. Though TASC is a governing body of Megas, its chief concern is to command the military forces. While some TASC officials may harbor political agendas that aspire beyond their duty, most take their job seriously enough to keep the brave men and women serving in the military from getting killed.
Economy
The Entente maintains, for the most part, a free-market economy. Nearly any consumer good is available to anybody willing to pay enough rupies, the standard currency of the Entente. The complex systems of government and the Entente's formidable military are supported by a relatively high income tax. A relatively high standard of living, however, keeps the populace happy. Internal trade has always been prosperous for Megas, but entrance to the ESUS brought with it a new era of wealth unlike anything the Entente had every seen before. Aside from the ESUS, Megas actively trades with her numerous allies, and is a member of Balrogga's Intergalactic Trade Hub. The government maintains no structured welfare system, instead using the rupies for beneficial programs such as compulsary education and defence, although rupies are regularly donated to charities for the poor and destitute.
Territories and Protectorates
The Entente has grown over the centuries to encompass more than a few planets. Her strength lies in the economy, military, and culture that is rooted in the alliance of these planets. The Valivarre system, once the only system contained within the Entente, has been joined by five other systems, expanding the Entente to six, overall.
Valivarre System
The Valivarre system is the home system of the Entente. The sun, Valivarre, is a slightly bluer sun than Sol due to its younger age, and gives off less light and more radiation. The Valivarre system contains three planets capable of sustaining life, Tirol, Zendus, and Falcaro, all three of which orbit Fantoma, the system’s gas giant, making them, in truth, moons.
Other Planets
Outside the Valivarre system, Entente ideals are firmly rooted in many other planets. Optera, Karbarra, Praxia, Haydon IV, and Preyton are the most well-known of these planets, and are the most influential in Entente politics, economics, and demographics.
Protectorates
While these planets are not members of the Entente, they are under the protection of the Megan military, making them more than just allied nations. They are encouraged to adopt the same laws and politics that the Entente has enacted.
Naxder Drol
The Shadowlands of Naxder Drol is actually an empire in itself. It consists of two planets, Naxderia and Drollaria, which have unified in their efforts to achieve greatness.
Voz
A close ally, the Protectorate of Voz is a newly inducted protectorate for the Entente. The people of Voz, or Vozans, are unique in that there DNA contains two double helixes. However, these helixes are not identical to each other. Even more amazing is the fact that while a Vozan has a unique DNA code in one helix, the other helix is identical to the second helix in every other Vozan. This being noted, SOTA codebreakers are currently running every computer program they have at there disposal, working around the clock to crack this encryption. One can only wonder what secrets are hidden in the bloodlines of this ancient and mysterious race.
Allies and Foreign Relations
Over the centuries, the Entente has forged many long withstanding alliances with nations such as Hobbeebia (post-war), Naxder Drol, Voz, Theao, and Adronia. The benefits of these alliances are seen daily in Megan culture; a high standard of living, an expanding economy, and a strong military.
The ESUS
Megas has long been an active and contributing member of the ESUS. Strong ties with other ESUS members have been forged in this time, most notably with nations such as Torontonias, Central Facehuggeria, and Balrogga.
The IUSS
A fledgling alliance at best, the IUSS was formed from a coalition of ESUS members looking to expand into other parts of the galaxy. Megas was not one of the founding members, but joined the alliance soon after its creation, and ever since has been at the forefront of the economic sector of the IUSS.
